Please note that it might be needed to restart the server after finishing the setup.
Create an application link
- Log in to Jira as an administrator
- Navigate to the "Application links" section in the "Application" settings
- Enter the URL of the Confluence application you want to link Jira to
- Click on "Create new link"
Create login credentials
- Navigate to the "Jira user server" section in the "User management" settings
- Click on "Add application"
- Type in an username, a password and the required IP Adresses
- Click on "Save"
Add Jira to the User Directories in Confluence
- Log in to Confluence as an administrator
- Navigate to the "User Directories" section in the Confluence administration
- Click on "Add Directory"
- Choose "Atlassian Jira" as the "Directory Type"
- Type in the URL of the Jira server and the login credentials you have created previously
Allow external user management for Confluence
- Navigate to the "Security Configuration" section in the Confluence administration
- Click on the "External user management" checkbox to actiavate it
Configure the permission for external users
- Navigate to the users "Global Permissions" section in the Confluence administration
- Click on "Edit Permissions" on the top right
- Activate the checkboxes for Jira users, to enable them to use Confluence
- Click on "Save all" on the bottom of the page
Add the filter results gadget to Confluence
- Navigate to the "External Gadgets" section in the Confluence administration
- Choose "Gadget Feeds" in the navigation on top
- Enter the URL of the Jira server
- Click on "Add"
