Configure the Container Link field

  1. Navigate to the "Custom fields" section in the "Issues" settings
  2. Search for the "Container Link" field
  3. Click on the cog icon button on the right
  4. Choose "Screens" in the dropdown
  5. Assign the Container Link field to the necessary screens

Assign a certain issuetype to be a Container

  1. Navigate to the "Manage apps" tab in the Jira Administration
  2. Click on "Configuration" below "Epic Sum Up" in the navigation on the left
  3. Click on the dropdown next to "Treat issuetypes as container"
  4. Choose an issuetype and assign it to be a Container
  5. Click on the "Save" button on the top right

  1. Navigate to an issue
  2. Click on "Edit" to open the edit screen
  3. Look for the "Container Link"
  4. Click on the dropdown and choose any Container to link the issue to
  5. Click on "Update" to update the value
